Refund policy

Every B.fabers piece is made to order, in the workshop of an independent craftsman, in the wood species and format you have chosen. It bears a brass plate with your name, fixed to the piece. No piece is held in stock: your order starts the work, and the plate makes it unique.

Forty-eight hours to change your mind

You have forty-eight hours after confirming your order to cancel it, without giving a reason and at no cost. Write to us at maison@bfabers.com quoting your order number. The refund is made within fourteen days.

After that time, the material has been selected and the craftsman's work has begun.

    The right of withdrawal

Every piece receives a brass plate bearing the name of the person for whom it was made. Produced specifically for you, it makes the piece unsuitable for any other purpose. On that basis, our pieces fall within Article L.221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code and cannot be taken back or exchanged under the right of withdrawal, beyond the forty-eight hours of free cancellation.

That is precisely why this period exists, and why it comes with no conditions and no charge. The details are set out in Article 8 of our terms and conditions of sale.

    A damaged or non-conforming piece

Please examine your piece on delivery and report any visible damage within seventy-two hours, with photographs, to maison@bfabers.com. This period allows us to make a claim against the carrier; it does not deprive you of any right.

If the piece arrives damaged, does not correspond to your order or has a manufacturing defect, we arrange its collection at our expense and we repair or replace it.

    Your warranties

You benefit in all circumstances from the legal warranty of conformity, two years from delivery, and from the legal warranty against hidden defects, two years from discovery of the defect. Their exact content is set out in Article 9 of our terms and conditions of sale.

To these is added our ten-year commercial warranty against any manufacturing or structural defect that makes the piece unfit for its use. The criterion is use, not appearance: a piece of solid wood furniture is alive, it acquires a patina, it bows slightly, surface checks may appear with the seasons, and these movements are part of what you are buying. As soon as a piece no longer fulfils its function, however, we step in. The criteria are precise and verifiable, and are set out in Article 10 of our terms and conditions of sale.

Beyond these ten years, we continue to maintain and restore your piece. Our pieces are designed to be repaired rather than replaced.

    If we disagree

Write to us first: maison@bfabers.com. If our reply does not satisfy you, or if you receive no reply within two months, you may refer the matter free of charge to our consumer ombudsman, CM2C, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France, at www.cm2c.net/declarer-un-litige.php or litiges@cm2c.net.
