The Material

Woods & Finishes

Eight woods and finishes, all in solid homegrown timber, oil-finished.

French woods carry a light of their own. They play not on contrast but on nuance: fine tones, a delicate grain, a gentle presence. Their slower growth, born of our temperate climates, gives them a denser, more even timber. Unlike American species, often darker, homegrown woods offer a truer expression. That sobriety accompanies our work: it lets the material settle without imposing itself.
