Two paths, one guiding line

Prologue

Malt & Bois

« Cette collection n'est pas née dans un bureau de style. Elle est née de rencontres. »

Malt & Bois, the two partners

At Malt & Bois, wood is not merely a material: it is a field of rigour, precision and transmission. Founded by Mathieu L'Helguen and Milan Bardoula, both Compagnons du Devoir, the atelier brings the rigour of traditional joinery into dialogue with the inventiveness of contemporary fitting-out.

Their paths tell of that double culture. Mathieu, the son of a joiner, shaped his eye over a tour of France that took him from historic monuments to art furniture workshops in Ireland. Milan, who studied law before returning to craft, built his rigour on heritage sites, in high-end fitting-out and in training with the Compagnons. Along the way they have also been called on for projects of national scale, some tied to the rebuilding of Notre-Dame: commissions that speak of the trust placed in their know-how.

Artisan partners of the first collection, they bring B.fabers their mastery of fitted and bespoke furniture.
